keyword research

Everyone is looking to get more traffic with the lowest budget, and the first step to reach your goal is doing good keyword research. We have many free and paid tools to do this, but one of the best ones is Google Keyword Planner, which is working without any bugs (Google Keyword Planner has the most accuracy). Many of our ads and SEO clients don’t know anything about ranking keywords, and they choose the hardest ones and spend tons of money for nothing! Because ranking a new site for hard keywords takes so much time and budget, we always recommend choosing easy and long-tail keywords for the start. In this guide we will teach you keyword research without spending a penny on it.

What is keyword research?

Keyword research means finding the easiest and best-converting keywords for your new or old website. When you do this in the proper way, then you can target the easy keywords that rank faster and bring some starting traffic to the site. This little traffic from easy keywords helps your SEO, and your main and harder keywords will rank easier.Let’s explain you with an image:

inner link building for SEO

As we said, one of the best ways to rank your site without buying links is doing inner link building. You can see some links to our other blog posts on this page, and all of these help our articles to rank better in Google and other search engines. Buying links for a new business is too costly, and with this problem, they have one way that is article writing and inner link building.

🎓 For example, you want to rank an SEO keyword for your site, and it’s one of the hardest keywords that you can find.To do this you need to write at least 50-100 articles related to SEO, like how to create free links, how to work with search console, and what Google Analytics is. After that, you link your main SEO page in those articles and wait for the impact.

How does keyword research impact our traffic?

As we said, you will rank higher on Google with link building and writing articles. But before starting it, you need to know that writing has some tricks so we recommend hiring a writer for your business. When you choose the right keywords that are long-tail and easy to rank, your website gets some impressions in Search Console. These impressions are Google or other robots who are reviewing your website quality.

1️⃣ What is a long-tail keyword?

Long-tail keywords are keywords that contain more than 2 phrases in them. For example, “buy Google Ads threshold account” is a long keyword that is much easier than “Google Ads.“. These keywords have lower search volume and competition, so you can rank in them with just some links and articles if you do everything right. One more thing about these keywords is that some of them are much harder than others because of conversion rates. All keywords with buying purposes are looking hard at the first because all of the competitors focus on them to get as many clients as possible.

2️⃣ What is a short keyword?

Short keywords have one or two phrases in them, and they are known as high-competition keywords in the SEO industry. But sometimes you can find some short keywords that don’t have that much competition, but it’s rare nowadays. If your site or domain is new, it’s better to not focus on short keywords because they will ruin your budget and time (Google won’t rank your new site for hard keywords).

  • Location: If you want to know keyword volume in different locations, choose your targeted location like the United States.
  • Site: The last field helps you to filter negative or not-related keywords. We recommend you add one of your competitors in it.

how to use google keyword planner

On this page you can see the results with some more options to add or filter keywords. On the right side there is a sidebar that allows you to remove some branding keywords or non-converting ones for sellers. These ones depend on your niche and keywords, but we are going for Google Ads-related keywords to write some quality articles for them. There is a column called competition, so you can see how hard it is to rank in those keywords.

❗️ Always check the difficulty keywords by your hands. Many times Google doesn’t have any idea about competition, and after writing the article, you see that more than 50 old websites did the same thing! So check the keyword before starting to work on it.

Conclusion

Now you can find your keywords without spending any money on it. Some freelancers can do this for you with just $5 or $10 if you don’t have time for it.In an upcoming article we will teach you how to check keyword difficulty!
